This past week we wrapped up what has easily been the best guest artist schedule we have ever had. It all started last summer with a visit from one of the worlds finest stylists, Phillip Wilson. Phillip blew the students away with his free-form cutting techniques and inspirational thoughts on success. We followed that with a visit from San Francisco area stylist Henry Calcagno. In the course of two hours, we shared both laughter and tears as Henry shared personal stories that reminded us of the importance of love, friendship and making a difference in the world. In the fall we were treated to a visit from Diva Studio owner Steven Brooks. Steven had us laughing so we hard we nearly cried as he shared real world advice on salon success and the challenges of being a salon owner. This winter we were fortunate to have two time NAHA Avante Garde Hairdresser of the Year Nicholas French share the story of his life as well as the techniques that have made him world famous. Recently hair cutting master Yosh Toya shared over 40 years of wisdom and humor with the students. Last week we finished it off with the incredibly inspiring Geno Stampora. I feel very blessed to know all of these great artists and to have had the opportunity to get to know them both personally and professionally. They are all great people. I am looking forward to another wonderful year as we start all over again with a visit from my friend Phillip Wilson on June 15th. I hope that both current and former students will take advantage of these fantastic opportunities to learn from some of the very best in our industry.
