Your Financial Aid Options
Federally-Funded Grants and Loans
Begin your financial aid journey by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). You will need to know the code for the school you plan on attending. Our codes are:
- Provo Campus: E02200
- St. George Campus: 041842
- West Jordan Campus: 041732
Depending on your unique financial situation, you may qualify for a grant or a subsidized or unsubsidized loan. Some students may qualify for a Parent PLUS loan.
General information about federally-funded grants and loans:
Federal Pell Grant
A Federal Pell Grant does not have to be repaid, except under certain circumstances. To qualify for a Pell Grant, a student must demonstrate financial need through the FAFSA® form. Read more here: The Pell Grant
Federal Subsidized Loan
Federal Direct Subsidized loans are available to undergraduate students with financial need. The interest is paid by the federal government while students are in school, and then interest begins accruing at the time students cease full-time enrollment. Regular payments begin six months after the student ceases enrollment. A fixed interest rate is established annually by the U.S. Department of Education. Read more here: Federal Subsidized Loan
Federal Unsubsidized Loan
Unsubsidized Direct loans are available for students to borrow for additional education costs. With the exception of demonstrating financial need and undergraduate status, borrowers must meet all eligibility criteria of the Federal Subsidized Direct loan program. Interest payments begin immediately after the loan is fully disbursed or may be added to the principal balance. Generally, you may choose to make interest payments on the loan while you are in school or have the interest added to your principal balance (capitalized) when your repayment schedule begins. Regular payments begin six months after the student ceases enrollment. Interest rates are fixed and established annually by the U.S. Department of Education. Read more here: Federal Unsubsidized Loan
Federal Parent PLUS Loan
Federal Parent Loans for undergraduate students provide additional funds for credit-worthy parents to help pay for students’ educational expenses. If a parent has no credit or a poor credit history, they may still qualify for a loan by applying with a credit-worthy endorser. They can be combined with other financial aid resources and cannot exceed the student’s cost of education. Interest rates are fixed and established annually by the U.S. Department of Education. Repayment begins immediately after the loan is fully disbursed. Read more here: Federal Parent Plus Loan
Scholarships
While loans and grants are usually need-based, scholarships are often based on merit. We offer a number of scholarships at Taylor Andrews Academy which you can apply for. Outside scholarships are also worth looking into. For example, you may find a scholarship to apply for from these sources:
- Beauty Changes Lives scholarships
- American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS) scholarships
Private Loans
Try applying for a private loan to assist with educational expenses from a bank, credit union, or other financial institution.
Taylor Andrews Academy Payment Plan
Take advantage of our school’s payment plan. This plan requires $3,000 down payment plus monthly payments between 8-10% interest depending on the length of the loan. With this option, tuition must be paid in full upon graduation. We recommend that you apply for FAFSA® or a private loan before considering a payment plan.
Alpine School District High School Student Scholarship Program
We are proud to offer the Alpine School District High School Student Scholarship Program. High School students are not eligible for federal financial aid. Alpine School District high school students may enroll and qualify for a school district partial-tuition scholarship ($1,500) that may be matched by Taylor Andrews Academy. The Alpine School District scholarship for high school students has its own criteria for eligibility. See your high school counselor for eligibility.
