Hair Design/Barbering + Color
Taylor Andrews Academy now offers the 1200 hour Hair Design license which we refer to as a “Barbering + Color” Program that will teach you the modern trends and techniques for cutting, coloring and styling hair.
This program includes ALL aspects of a Barber License with the added benefit of training in hair color. The course includes: long and short hair cutting, beard & mustache design, hair coloring, grey coverage and chemical services (such as straightening or creating curly hair) for both men and women.
Career opportunities include: Barber, Hairstylist, Hair Color Specialist, Barber Shop Owner, Salon/Spa Owner, Platform artist or Educator. Both National and Local Barbering & Hair Design Guest Artists are brought in frequently to provide advanced training. Placement assistance is offered.
Learn Hair Design in Utah
The Hair Design program combines the key parts of a Barbering and Cosmetology license allowing students to learn not only traditional cutting but clipper work, straight edge razor shaves as well as all chemical hair services. The hair design license is currently only available at our Provo and West Jordan Utah locations and is comprised of 1200 hours.
A Hair design license is for those who strictly want to work in hair cutting and color. Makeup, skin care/esthetics and nails are not covered in the course. For those who want to work with skin, makeup and nails in addition to cutting/coloring hair are encouraged to enroll in our 1600 hour cosmetology program.

Taylor Andrews hair design course has both day and night schedules available, making it easier for students to fit their classes into their busy schedule. Students may also be able to get financial assistance for their hair design course through a variety of payment plans, student loans and FASFA.

PARENT PLUS LOANS FROM FAFSA: are loans made to parents of dependent undergraduate students to help pay for education expenses not covered by other financial aid. Eligibility is not based on financial need, but a credit check is required.
PRIVATE LOAN: There are some banks, credit unions and financial institutions that offer loans to help finance your education.
PAYMENT PLAN: $2,000 down payment required plus monthly payments @ 10% interest. With this option tuition MUST be paid in full upon graduation. We recommend that you apply for FAFSA or a private loan before considering a payment plan.
Day School 33.75 hours per week: Attend Monday – Friday 8:45am – 4:30pm
Night School 20 hours per week: Attend Monday – Thursday 5:00pm – 10:00pm.
Limited to High schoolers only and participating school districts: Monday – Friday 9:45am – 4:30pm
