Graduate Spotlight – Tayler Munford
Where are you now in the beauty industry?
I am a hairstylist and eyelash artist at Evolve Salon and Day Spa.
What have you been up to since graduation?
I have been building my clientele at Evolve. Marketing for myself and the salon. Learning new techniques and trying to stay ahead of the trends.
What things have you been able to accomplish or be a part of since graduation?
I was able to attend beacon, that was an amazing opportunity. Just recently I got to do a fun photoshoot for zodiac signs.
What did you love most about attending at Taylor Andrews Academy?
I loved the opportunities that I got because of attending Taylor Andrews Academy. Opportunities like hairshow, beacon, meeting successful and talent people in the industry.
What would you say is the greatest thing you learned from school?
The greatest thing I learned in school would probably be to get a mentor. My mentor has helped me so much and I’m so thankful for her and her willingness to give me the time of day!
Which of the National Guests Artists you saw while attending school inspired you and why?
I have been inspired by many of the guest artists. One that comes to mind is K.L. Christopherson, she helped me to realize that when you are passionate about something then you can do it and if something gets in the way there is always a way to continue forward with that passion.
What plans do you have for the future in the industry?
My plans are to continue at Evolve and do editorials. I’ll continue my education and one day own my own salon.
What advice would you give someone entering the beauty industry?
Finish school as soon as you can and never give up. All too often I hear about people who “used to be a hairstylist” in my eyes I see that as giving up because building a clientele is really hard and exhausting. But nobody ever said good things came easy.
